POSITION SUMMARY:
Alkermes is seeking an experienced IT Associate Director within the Commercial delivery group of IT. This individual will be accountable for business engagement, implementation, production support and maintenance services for a number of functional areas in the Commercial, Sales and Marketing arena. The successful candidate will have deep experience with the delivery of Commercial applications in a pharmaceutical environment with extensive experience implementing and supporting Veeva and/or Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications.
This role is based at Alkermes’ Waltham, MA location and would work a hybrid office schedule.
Responsibilities
JOB DUTIES:
- Shape business demand into supply by partnering with business resources to facilitate creation of business cases, and value plans:
- Identify opportunities to solve business problems with IT capabilities through collaboration with stakeholders
- Develop meaningful long-term relationships with business functions/stakeholders to gain deep understanding of business needs
- Champion awareness for and influence IT functions on business needs to improve effectiveness utilizing technology and a culture of shared ownership
- Partner with Corporate PMO, IT leaders and other business functions to ensure prioritization and governance of projects
- Stay on top of customer and stakeholder preferences, technology trends, and market demand in relevant areas
- Lead the delivery in the build, execution and support of IT solutions to enable the realization of business value
- Own the partner/vendor relationships, managing external service provider quality and performance to ensure that services are delivered according to the specified service levels, requirements, and overall effectiveness
- Ensure adherence to pertinent regulatory requirements, security, and departmental policies, practices and standard operating procedures
- Own the relevant design, development, testing and deployment of technical products and capabilities. Ensure smooth transition to support and ongoing maintenance
- In conjunction with other IT teams, evolve technical system portfolios, ensuring systems are aligned with the business processes, compliant and current. Continuously evaluate technical efficiency and recommend changes as necessary.
- Provide leadership, direction and day-to-day oversight (including staffing, budgeting, compliance adherence and other relevant management and administrative functions).
- Identify, mentor, develop and retain high performing team
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum Education, Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; post-graduate degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years application support/service delivery management experience required with extensive Customer Relationship Management (CRM) implementation and support experience. Consulting experience strongly preferred.
- Extensive delivery experience in the pharmaceutical commercial space required
- Experience managing IT vendor relationships within pharmaceutical/biotech industry

- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Self-starter with ability to multitask – effectively manage simultaneous work requests across departments, IT, and other cross-functional organizations
- Ability to initiate, persuade, motivate, and influence project stakeholders and internal/external team members to desired and mutually-beneficial outcomes
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule in our Waltham office
