GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Develop and implement strategic initiatives designed to enhance employer partnerships with the purpose of increasing employment opportunities available to BSU studentsSUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Executive Director of Career Services & Internships Office
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Assistant Director of Employer Engagement and Outreach, Student Workers, Clerical and Support Staff
TOUR OF DUTY: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00 PM, including evening and weekends as required. This position is eligible for remote work in compliance with University policy.
This is an APA position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.

1. Develop and maintain employer relationships to increase the number of internship and job opportunities available to BSU students.2. Create high impact and meaningful engagement opportunities for employers to connect with students on and off campus.3. Establish the strategic vision for employer engagement, ensuring the alignment with departmental and divisional goals.4. Collaborate with campus partners to collect and share information regarding employer activities and touchpoints.5. Serve as part of the Career Services & Internships Leadership Team. Work directly with the Executive Director and other Associate Directors to establish and manage the date-to-date operation and implement strategic initiatives for the department.6. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the employer engagement team including recruitment events and employer outreach.7. Supervise and support the Assistant Director of Employer Engagement and Outreach with the Internship & Job Fair, the Job & Internship Fair, the Education Career Fair, the STEM Career Expo, and other employer engagement events.8. Set employer outreach targets and manage the CRM system for the office as it relates to tracking employer engagement.9. Serve as a liaison to Alumni and Advancement and leverage alumni connections to increase new employer engagement.10. Participate in industry professional organizations, local chamber of commerce meetings to promote BSU and highlight BSU's effort in becoming the engine and supplier of local workforce talent.11. Serve as the Career Services & Internships representative for the Collaborative University Business Experiences (CUBEs) team, collaborating with local businesses and organizations to conduct semester-long/short CUBEs projects in the classroom.12. Collaborate with the Associate Director of Operations and Data Management to assess employer engagement efforts. Produce the annual employer engagement report and contribute to the office's annual report.13. Collaborate with the Associate Director of Career Development and Internships to track experiential learning data and student outcomes.14. Assist with the professional and career development of undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni through career assessments, major and career exploration, decision-making, goal setting, and planning. Focus efforts on resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation and skill development, networking strategies including LinkedIn, internship search and registration process for both credit and non-credit internships, job search preparation and navigation, and graduate school planning through advising appointments.15. Develop and present workshops on career development topics, including choosing a major, resumes and cover letters, internships, interviewing, networking, job search, and graduate school planning.16. Assist in the training of graduate assistants, student workers, and new staff.17. Using principles of Life Design, support undergraduate and graduate students in imagining and designing meaningful lives and careers through early discovery, ongoing exploration, and skill development. Work collaboratively to develop career readiness programs for all students to address inequities in access and inclusion.18. Disseminate information to academic and other administrative offices on campus to increase awareness of Career Services & Internships' programs, events, and services.19. Serve as a liaison to specific academic departments, student clubs and organizations.20. Provide support for the day-to-day management of the Career Services Office. Represent the office at divisional and university meetings, events, and activities.21. Utilize diversity and social justice practices to identify best practices and gaps in programs and services with the goal of promoting student success.22. Stay up to date with employment industry trends, job requirements, hiring practices, and salaries.23. In consultation with the Executive Director, teach a career development class.
Required Qualifications
* Master's degree* Eight years of professional experience in a college/university career services setting.* Experience with career counseling and career assessment tools with college populations.* Experience developing and implementing comprehensive career-related programming.* Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively lead small and large groups.* Ability to work effectively as a team with career professional, clerical, administrative, and student staff.* Experience with computer technology, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)* Experience with integrated recruitment management software such as Handshake.* Strong organization and planning skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.* Some evening and weekend availability is expected for this position and may involve business travel obligations.Preferred Qualifications
* Experience supervising professional and student staff.* Experience working with employers, faculty, alumni, and underrepresented students.* Experience with and demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.* Experience with program assessment and the development of learning outcomes.* Knowledge of and demonstrable experience in all facets of the position as described in the job description's duties.Work Environment
