The Wellesley Free Library seeks its next Assistant Director - a strong communicator who is well-versed in municipal government and is a fearless, flexible and fun team leader. The Assistant Director forms productive relationships and partnerships with community leaders, patrons, supporting organizations, performers, programs, and libraries in Massachusetts. The Assistant Director supports the Director to transform big ideas into strategic results-driven initiatives; recruits, develops, and motivates an outstanding staff; promotes inclusion and diversity; and effectively communicates and promotes the Library’s mission, goals, and objectives to the broader Wellesley community.
The work schedule is typically M-F and may include evenings or weekends, as needed.
The Town of Wellesley is an extremely active, supportive, and well-educated community located 15 miles west of Boston, MA. Currently, the Library has a staff of over 70 people equivalent to 37.7 FTE.
QUALIFICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED:
The requirements are: Master's degree in Library and Information Science and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in public library operations, including supervisory experience. Please see the job description for additional requirements.
The full FY25 salary range is $76,894 - $116,802 with an excellent benefit package.
