WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): The American Red Cross’ Service to the Armed Forces Hero Care Center, serves military members and their families worldwide, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, 7 days a week. Hero Care Center caseworkers are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing emergency assistance both online and by phone. By collecting and verifying accurate information, we are able to assist military commands in making decisions for emergency leave and serve as an overall resource for veterans and their families. We also provide current military members and military retirees access to emergency and routine financial assistance in situations and circumstances where they qualify.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Performs required administrative tasks on behalf of the Supervisors & Manager to support their team of Specialists & Senior Specialists. These tasks include, but are not limited to, scheduling, attendance tracking, site metric reports (cases, calls, services, adherence etc.), monitor overtime for misuse, support recruiting call.
  • In the absence of a supervisor or when there is a supervisor vacancy: Support/Monitor Team performance via PowerBi; monitor high level-call out/attendance trends; support escalated customer calls. Support Performance Enablement/Management to include support/monitor identified low performing teams; compile and investigate findings of any performance operational issues to identify root causes and propose solutions for improvement; ensure adherence to call center policies and procedures. Complete Weekly Manager's Report Out to include Team Findings/Review and Support in overall feedback and coaching as needed. Responsible for Weekend Review/Follow Up.
  • Assists Supervisors and Manager with On-Site and virtual event planning such as:, VIP Visits, Open House, Conferences, site morale, engagement, and resiliency planning, coordinating, researching information, & maintaining budget. Reserves space for meetings / conferences (if applicable). Assists with Job Fairs (planning, set up, supplies, organization and tracking).
  • Provides general office support such as: answering administrative phone, preparing correspondence, memos, and reports, making travel arrangements, among other administrative tasks. Ensure that staff have paperwork needed to access Military Installation and MWR facilities on Fort Sill (send updated staff list to MWR and VCC, provide letter of employment for Annual Pass). Work with NEC (Network Enterprise Center) to ensure access to military locator/DPS. Work with CG (Commanding General) and GC’s (Garrison Commander) office to ensure good standing in community.
  • Maintains ordering, tracking and return of all IT equipment for both new and existing staff. (Laptops, phones, monitors, desktops, headsets, cords, etc.). This includes who the devices are issued to, desk assignments, and work cell numbers.
  • Adds new hires to the Verint WFO schedule. Adds end date for outgoing staff. Inputs weekly schedule to WFT and edits as required. Performs other general AWS/CMS tasks for Supervisors and Manager.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and military community required

  • Extensive knowledge of the job. Comprehensive acquaintance with both general and specific aspects of the job and the practical application to complex problems normally encountered.   • Viable candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to apply active listening skills and employ reasoning and questioning strategies to capture, analyze, interpret and synthesize information from clients, staff, and management.
  • They must also be adept at multi-tasking and have the ability to shift focus as operational, service delivery and staff needs demand.
  • Demonstrated ability to treat people with respect under all circumstances and instill trust in others while upholding the values and principles of the American Red Cross is essential.
