Responsibilities
The Law Department of State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, a Fortune 50 company, is hosting a Paralegal Summer Intern Program for rising paralegal students. This program strives to provide our paralegal interns with meaningful hands-on work experiences leveraging training, mentoring, and development opportunities within our Claim Litigation Counsel (CLC) Division.
Paralegals in this team support attorneys nationwide.
Activities performed will include:
- Medical record and billing summaries
- Medical chronologies
Summer Internship Dates: 5/19/2025 - 8/1/2025
Hours: Monday-Friday, 38:75 hours per week
- Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.
- Pay: $22/hour. In addition, interns selected for our summer internship program will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend!
HYBRID: Selected interns should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment. Please note that relocation benefits will not apply. Work arrangements could change based on environment and business needs.
Location: Bloomington, IL
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently enrolled in a Paralegal Degree or Certificate Program at an accredited institution and must remain enrolled as a student for the duration of the internship.
- Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunity.
Preferred:
- Experience in injury claims, litigation or paralegal tasks
- Background in reviewing medical records and preparing medical chronologies or analyzing medical records
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, prioritize workload, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively
- Strong written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong software/technical skills
- Experience using Evermap and/or Adobe Bookmarking
