Full Job Description
The Seattle office of Morgan Lewis seeks to hire a 1L Diversity Fellow for our 2025 Summer Associate Program.
Building a team of lawyers with diverse perspectives and experiences is a core value at Morgan Lewis. Not only is it a business imperative, it is part of our strategic focus. We aim to support diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility efforts in the legal profession and to attract future leaders who are committed to the same.
Fellowship recipients will receive a $50,000 fellowship stipend made in two payments conditioned upon acceptance of a full-time 2L summer associate position & subsequent acceptance of a full-time offer to join the firm as an entry-level associate.
Fellowship applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Be enrolled full-time in an ABA-accredited law school with an anticipated graduation date of 2027.
* Show a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA).
* Have the ability to bring a unique and authentic perspective to the firm as a result of life experiences.
* Have outstanding leadership skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to exceptional client service.
* Be genuinely interested in a career with Morgan Lewis and demonstrate interest in supporting DEIA efforts at the firm and throughout the legal profession.
* Be a US citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States.
Process:
Interested students should submit the following in support of their candidacy: resume, law school and undergraduate transcripts, writing sample, and a personal statement (max 500 words) addressing how you will contribute to Morgan Lewis's inclusive culture and diverse community. This can include prior experiences that have shaped and/or demonstrated your commitment to diversity and inclusion. Morgan Lewis accepts the NALP Common Application for First-Year Diversity Fellowship Programs personal statement; however, please make sure your statement also addresses all elements of the Morgan Lewis personal statement above prompt. If your law school transcript is not available at the time of your application, we ask that you submit your first semester transcript to our application portal once available.
