Full Job Description

LifeSoure is hiring an EMR Application Analyst for our IT team to be responsible for the technical support and configuration of LifeSource’s EMR (Electronic Medical Records) application. They will act as the liaison with designated department functional owners, application vendors, educators and clinical team members regarding application upgrades, service requests, reporting, and optimization. The EMR Application Analyst works closely with the IT infrastructure team to maintain, optimize, and support the application system environment.

As an EMR Application Analyst, you'll advance our lifesaving mission by performing the following duties:

Providing technical product functionality, design, build, and testing expertise for EMR application to include:

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for system updates or changes or business intelligence needs.
  • Prioritize, coordinate, and implement updates and requested changes to the system; review and test each new release; troubleshoot problems and questions from end users.
  • Understand system configuration set ups and execute changes as needed/requested, following technical change management protocols.
  • Support operational data/report requests.
  • Participate in validation and testing sessions and ensure appropriate documentation, follow-up and issue escalation occurs.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate system needs to develop recommendations for customers.
  • Develop, support and maintain all required system design and build documents and other system/configuration documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry and business trends through communication with professional organizations, suppliers, customers, competitors, and other informed individuals.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Primarily Monday-Friday during business hours of 8am-5pm.
  • Hybrid on-site in Minneapolis
  • Participates in On-Call rotation that responds to high priority general IT issues during non-business hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a combination of education and/or experience equivalent to 5 years of IT application configuration and/or application configuration within healthcare or related industry.
  • Proven skilled and competent in using technology-based tools such as electronic medical record (EMR) systems, personal computers and related software, and mobile devices, as appropriate for position.
  • The ability to gather and create technology requirements that can be developed via internal or external resources.
  • Ability to translate technical language in a consumable way for non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of clinical data elements and terminology, and experience in system analysis and design, often including knowledge of standards and data integration principles, data export in Excel, CSV, XPS format, basic understanding of database security.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy and ability to approach work conscientiously and methodically.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with a desire to improve processes, take initiative and solve problems.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical and reporting skills, and ability to present and communicate findings to management or other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to exhibit a high degree of quality, integrity, and honor confidentiality of appropriate information including, but not limited to, personal team member data, organizational operations or work processes, donor and donor family information, contributor details, any financial information and medical or protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Proven self-directed, motivated contributor with a strong initiative and ability to function autonomously, establish priorities and work effectively within a team environment.

Projected offer range: $76k-90k, based on relevant experience.
