Skills and Competencies

  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Prior experience with journalism or public relations desired
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, ability to synthesize and adapt financial research for media and other audiences
  • Firm grasp of social media including Twitter / X and LinkedIn
  • Background in economics or finance welcome but not essential

Education

  • Graduation date of June 2026 - June 2027
  • Ability to work during program dates: June 2nd - August 8th 2025

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of media relations including:
    • Researching media targets and updating media pitch lists.
    • Drafting pitch emails for reporters summarizing Moody's research and initiatives and assisting with media outreach.
    • Handling inbound media requests and coordinating interviews with Moody's spokespeople and reporters.
  • Assist with creation and editing of content including social media copy, intranet articles, videos and infographics.
  • Develop issue-based talking points and other background materials.
  • Track media coverage and social media performance and assist in reporting results.
  • Assist in developing and delivering media training for Moody's spokespeople.
  • Collaborate on projects with teams across Corporate Affairs including Social Media, Branding, Government & Regulatory Affairs and others.
  • Assist in maintaining the team's project tracking boards.

About the Program

Moody's Corporate Communications team is responsible for the development and execution of impactful strategies to promote Moody's views, initiatives and solutions, and manage reputational risks, in alignment with the company's business objectives. The program takes place each summer from June - August and positions are available for undergraduate and select graduate students. Internships are full-time, offering a comprehensive view of Moody's business and culture, and a chance to build professional and technical skills. Programmatic elements include networking, mentorship, leadership speaker series and volunteering events. Interns complete project work determined by their team that have real impact, fostering a sense of accomplishment and professional growth. Throughout the internship, participants receive mentorship from Moody's professionals, gaining insights into diverse career paths and cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the company. Networking events and workshops further enrich the experience, providing a platform for professional development and collaboration. As a Moody's intern, you will gain real-world experience, turn inputs into actions, and be integral part of the team.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring hourly rate for this position is $35.
