CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
The City of Warren is accepting applications for the position of Code Enforcement Officer. Employees in this classification perform skilled inspection of residences, businesses, and industrial buildings to ensure compliance with the City Property Maintenance, Rental Unit and Mobile Home Ordinances. For properties deemed to be out of compliance with those ordinances, will ticket owners and follow up to ensure that recommended changes are made. Involves public contact and clerical work.
Requirements:
- Graduation from a standard high school or G.E.D. equivalent
- Diploma or official, sealed transcripts REQUIRED with application
- Four years experience in various aspects of inspection in building, construction, property maintenance or police work.
- Passed the International Code Council Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector examination within six months of date of
- Possession of a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Michigan.
- Driving record must meet city’s standards for insurability.
Pay rate: $59,929/year - $71,607/year (after 5 years)
