The Strategy Analytics Specialist joins the Enterprise Strategy Management team in the development of business strategy, strategic management disciplines and business analytics that support the company’s mission, vision and growth objectives. Principally supporting the Executive team’s strategic planning decision making and the Board of Directors, they will work directly with Executive Management and collaborate across the organization at the enterprise leadership and business unit levels. The role will develop business cases on transformational projects, apply analytical skills to solve problems creatively, research key strategic questions and make actionable recommendations on complex business problems to Delta Community’s leadership team. 

The Strategy Analytics Specialist understands the business and how their work contributes to the company’s goals. The role applies the process of examining company performance in the context of the financial industry and economic environment in order to arrive at decisions or recommendations. The role requires the ability to communicate complex data analysis findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, working effectively within and across teams. The Strategy Analytics Specialist must be able to demonstrate the ability to keep current with technical skills, conduct financial and ratio analysis, data and trend analysis, data visualization, data modeling, and extract and manipulate large data sets. They ensure internal customer satisfaction with analysis and reporting functions. The position requires advanced critical and curious thinking, the ability to absorb details as well as big picture, the capability to work with autonomy, self-motivation and with minimal continued direction.

Essential Functions:
• Provide analytics, predictive models, and data-driven insights on various strategic topics
• Oversee, maintain, and improve upon analysis, dashboard, and reporting products 
• Compile and ensure quality of monthly Board report and support the production of annual Board and executive planning meeting presentation materials
• Conduct branch profit and loss (P&L) forecasts for new and existing branch locations
• Provide ad hoc peer and competitor analysis using a variety of data sources (internal and external databases, studies, and research papers, etc.) and identify actionable insights
• Provide ad hoc analysis on a variety of credit union performance topics
• Develop ad hoc queries and reports to inform business decisions
• Analyze trends and patterns and build and maintain performance reporting
• Manage internal exploratory data mining, model development, and analysis
• Support the profitability program with analysis and reporting
• Build and maintain metadata and other documentation on data assets that the team is responsible for overseeing
• Assess market trends and competitors
• Summarize insights from analysis and clearly communicates analytical findings in a cohesive story, and articulates research and analysis to be presented to Executives
• Responsible for building appropriate external and internal client-facing materials, including presentations and Board packet materials
• Conduct financial analysis of large datasets to assess the operational and financial performance of existing branch, channel, products, services, fee-for-service, and a variety of member segment and demographic trend analyses
• Identify strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities
• Provide further insight into the Credit Union’s overall strategy by identifying critical questions and performing ad-hoc analyses
• Present findings, projections and recommended actions
• Support Executive decision-making processes

Job Qualifications
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or any quantitative discipline
• 2+ years’ experience in an Analytics, Statistics, and/or Data Analysis role
• Ability to manage 3 - 4 concurrent projects of moderate complexity and meet expected timelines with minimal oversight and direction
• Strong demonstrated Data Curiosity, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Strategic Thinking ability through work experience
• Strong MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel) experience
• Demonstrated strong Financial Modeling experience
• Experience developing and participating in presentations 
• Complies with all Credit Union policies and procedures including those related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations.  

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Analytics, or related field 
• Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI or similar data visualization tool experience
• SQL query building experience
• Python coding experience
• S&P Global and/or Callahan experience
• Profitability model experience
• Financial services industry experience
• Financial Planning and Analysis experience
