WARREN COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
TRUCK DRIVER POSITION
This is a full-time Union position, which requires payment of Union dues (payroll deduction) or fairshare deduction. An Illinois CDL Class A driver’s license is required. A pre-employment drug test and enrollment in our drug program is also required.
Work hours are M-F 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM with ½ hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks – one in the AM and one in the PM. Payday is every two weeks on Friday. Starting rate is $19.51/hour and time and ½ for overtime past 40 hours per week.
There is a 6-month probationary period.

- Vacation earned is one week after one full year, two weeks after 2 years, three weeks after 8 years, then four weeks after 20 years

- 2 personal days each year.
TRUCK DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES
The truck driver responsibilities will be to haul all types of materials such as rock, blacktop, hot mix asphalt, culverts, waste materials from jobsites, dirt, fill and any other items as directed.
In addition, you will be required to service various equipment: diesel trucks, gas trucks, and both large and small equipment.
Occasionally you will be required to operate rollers, a tractor, a backhoe, loader, and any other equipment as directed.
You will also be required to work as a laborer performing various duties including, but not limited to, cleaning and straightening-up shop and storage areas, patching roadways, shoveling rock and other material, cutting brush, culvert replacement, and any other types of road construction and projects that we are involved with.
