We are seeking a passionate and experienced Training Program Run Coach to join our team and assist in leading group training sessions, develop training plans, and support runners of all abilities in achieving their goals. The ideal candidate has a strong background in running, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and motivating environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist and Lead Workouts: Assist in implementing training sessions tailored to runners of varying fitness levels, including speed workouts and long runs.
- Provide Guidance and Feedback: Offer technical advice on running form, pacing, nutrition, and injury prevention.
- Foster Community: Build strong relationships with athletes, encourage camaraderie, and maintain a welcoming environment for all participants.
- Support Race Preparation: Help participants prepare for race day through advice, course experience, and mental preparation techniques.
- Promote Safety: Ensure training sessions are conducted safely and inclusively, considering factors such as weather, runner experience, and terrain.
- Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with our Training Programs team to enhance the training program.
Qualifications
- Experience as a running coach or runner who has completed multiple events, with a solid understanding of training principles for various race distances.
- Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., RRCA, USATF, UESCA or equivalent) is required.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire individuals and groups.
- Knowledge of injury prevention, recovery techniques, and basic sports nutrition.
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Passion for running and supporting others in achieving their goals.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and/or early mornings as required by the training schedule.
