Summary

This position is located in the United States Mint, Manufacturing Department, West Point Mint, Plant Engineering Division, Die Finishing Section. The West Point Mint's major mission and function is to produce quality numismatic, special and commemorative precious metal (gold, silver, platinum and other metals) coins. The United States Mint has four production facilities located in Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco, and West Point.

Duties

As a/an Supervisory Engraving Engineer, you will:

  • Serve as the technical expert and supervisor with responsibility for planning, developing, directing, training, reviewing, executing, and implementing complex manufacturing and engineering processes.
  • Analyze current research and development manufacturing / engineering information to effect the transition to products that can be produced for proof coins on a production basis at the West Point Mint.
  • Evaluate recurring problems with systems/equipment and develop recommended solutions
  • Advise on and review broad programs, prototypes and equipment specifications for process capabilities, suitability, reliability potential and methods to be used in producing proof die products for proof numismatic coins made on a production basis.
