General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for leading the planning and execution of new and existing project requests. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the schedule, budget and details for any give project and ensuring tasks are well organized. Utilize knowledge of applicable project systems and programs toll effectively prioritize and organize small to large sized projects in response to the needs of the customer. Gather customer work scopes and follow the project from initiation through design, scheduling, and field construction phases driven by the customers required schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the department in cross-functional meetings
- Serve as the primary contact with customers to coordinate assigned CMS Energy Utility projects
- Responsible for maintaining department standard work
- Lead the coordination of project work; includes estimating customer and system loads, generating tasks for other departments, providing cost estimates, identifying required permits, and scheduling work orders
- Participate and occasionally lead in department problem solving and waste elimination work
- Maintain a storm role and assist with emergent operations/storm restoration as needed
- Determine project scope and evaluating design requirements and system impacts
- Lead the prioritizing of workload to successfully complete projects and meet customer commitments
- Lead the design, based on geographic location, workload and available design resources, as needed
- Monitor and respond to complex inquiries from various business partners
- Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of typical contract and agreement terms and language
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and non-verbally) with stakeholders both internal and external
- Ability to interpret and understand blueprints, drawings, property descriptions and plans
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Understanding of pertinent rules, laws, and regulations pertaining to the department function
- Knowledge and understanding of Electric Tariffs
- Knowledge of SAP Notifications and Billing
- Time management and ability to prioritize stakeholder requests
- Knowledge of LEAN operating principles
Education & Experience
- Associate Degree in a technical, scientific or business related field with4 years of experience in project coordinator roles
