Full Job Description

Our client is a growing construction firm in Schaumburg seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager to assist in the day-to-day management of commercial construction projects, from planning through completion. In this role, you'll work closely with Senior Project Managers to ensure that all construction phases run smoothly, meet deadlines, and comply with building codes. You will be responsible for scheduling, managing contractors, verifying project completion, and maintaining project documentation. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of construction, both on-site and off-site, ensuring projects stay on schedule.
  • Inspect and approve work to ensure quality and compliance with city/county codes and building requirements.
  • Manage change orders, purchase orders, and coordinate inspections and approvals.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project progress and resolve any issues.
  • Track job progress and maintain proactive communication with designers and project teams.
  • Ensure safety standards are enforced on-site and track project deliveries.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction project management (specifically in retail)
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional certifications in construction management preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and construction applications like Smartsheet, PlanGrid, and Procore.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, blueprints, and building codes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain regular attendance.
