Description:The Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer - Staff, you will be responsible for coordinating planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within your area of assigned responsibility. You will work on a wide range of projects, including the design, development, and testing of software and hardware systems for advanced state-of-the-art receivers, transmitters, antennas, and jam and anti-jam systems. A significant focus of this role will be on UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) and Counter-UAS projects, requiring innovative solutions and expertise in RF systems, software development, and system integration.

What you'll do:
As a Project Engineer - Staff, your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects
Planning and formulating engineering programs
Reviewing product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
Evaluating and approving design changes, specification, and drawing releases
Coordinating activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
Representing the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects
Interacting with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations
Developing technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
Program/Project Management Focus:
- Supporting field integration and testing, assessing project concerns, developing resolution plans, and planning customer demonstrations
- Working as a team member, conduit between finance and the program management team
- Ability to work independently to manage programs
- Working through the budgeting process including setting baselines, updating ETCs, and managing work authorizations
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- At least 9 years of professional experience in software and/or embedded design, development, and testing (7 years with a related Master's degree)
- Good team working and collaboration skills
- Ability to obtain a security clearance to at least the Secret level (TS Preferred)
- Considered an emerging authority in your field
- UAS 107 license
- Experience with UAS Mission planning
- Experience with UAS FAA regulations
- UAS pilot experience and certification
- Project management experience, including budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation
- Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think creatively and outside the box
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Strong business acumen, with ability to understand and analyze business metrics and make data-driven decisions
- Experience with FAA regulations and compliance, including Part 107 and waiver processes
UAS and Counter-UAS Focus:
As a key member of our team, you will work on UAS and Counter-UAS projects, requiring expertise in RF systems, software development, and system integration. You will have the opportunity to work on the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $100,400 - $192,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
