Position Purpose:

The Mortgage Processing & Disclosure Desk Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and mentoring a team of Processors and Disclosure Desk Specialists. This role will be responsible for ongoing coaching and will ensure the level of expected service and quality of the loans are maintained. Responsibilities of this position will also include processing mortgage loans in accordance with company, agency and investor guidelines.


Description of Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Manage, support, and lead the Mortgage Processing and Disclosure Desk Teams. Oversee the management of the loan pipeline to ensure the workflow is appropriately prioritized and milestone service levels are met.
  • Work closely with Senior Management to obtain approval for loan files that require escalated attention.
  • Exhibit functional knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau. Ensure procedures are up to date and in alignment with Bank and Regulatory entities.
  • Review application files to verify data is complete and meets established requirements.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities to further engagement and success by maintaining compliance with Bank lending policy.
  • Collaborate with compliance and external auditors to ensure audit findings are reviewed, addressed, and mitigated.
  • All other duties as assigned and any activities that support the key accountabilities.


Requirements:

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum of five years or more of current experience working with mortgage processing and compliance in a mortgage banking environment.
  • Post high school education of one to one and a-half years in business administration, banking, or finance.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters of purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion and which may be of a sensitive or personal nature.
  • Excellent technical and communication skills required for performing analyses, interpreting data and communicating results and recommendations
  • Extensive knowledge of mortgage industry, including technical knowledge of pricing strategies.
  • Flexibility to adapt and manage within a dynamic business environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively - including with peers, management, clients, subordinates, and outside contractors - to achieve departmental and enterprise-wide objectives.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with frequent interruption; ability to balance multiple projects/activities with varying deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skills, familiar with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using Encompass software


Physical Requirements:

  • Work involves eye strain due to the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, alphabetizing and filing.
  • Work involves sitting, standing, moving, lifting, reading, writing, speaking, communicating.
  • Work involves the ability to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions.
  • Work involves lifting and moving loan files of up to 30 lbs.
