Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant, you support doctors by providing patient care and performing delegated medical tasks. You will also maintain records and administer medication and injections, as well as record vital signs.
What You'll Do
- You will help with examining and treating patients under a physician's guidance.
- You will prepare exam rooms, clean before and after procedures, disinfect equipment, and restock supplies.
- Talking to patients is important. You help patients to the exam room and get them ready.
- Collecting data is essential. Patients provide medical history. Information goes in their file. Data used to assist physicians.
- You will monitor vital signs like pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height. You'll help patients prepare for medical procedures, tests, and x-rays.
- Your duties involve conducting patient assessments, processing electrocardiograms, and collecting blood and urine samples during testing.
What Will Make You Successful In The Role
- Accurately documenting patient details in line with organizational guidelines.
- Understanding the rules related to patient privacy and confidentiality (especially HIPPA regulations).
- The capability to identify and report any signs of physical distress in patients to the healthcare staff.
- A good grasp of medical terminology.
- The knack for enhancing patient comfort and ease through approachable and friendly interactions.
- The ability to proficiently follow instructions from medical professionals.
- Knowledge about medical records and how to handle them.
- A keen eye for detail.

Qualifications
- Completion of high school or equivalent is a must.
- (BLS) Basic Life Support. Candidates without certification must be willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.
