Data Scientists are responsible for driving insights and informing decision making to enhance the business’s understanding of individual population segments, propensities, outcomes, and decision points. Data Scientists have a robust understanding of key concepts such as big data, advanced analytical techniques, data storytelling, and sophisticated modeling techniques. They combine data, computational science, and technology with consumer-oriented business knowledge, to drive high-value insights into the organization.

This Data Scientist will be responsible for identifying insights from data through machine learning, deep learning, and AI to augment decision making by the business by applying AI/ML/DL methods and algorithms across retail areas such as forecasting, Membership and Marketing, supply chain cost optimization, and inventory management.

ROLE
● Designs the analytics methodology to solve business problems.
● Conducts end-to-end analysis, including data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations.
● Enriches enterprise data with external sources of information when needed.
● Enhances data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.
● Creates automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance.
● Works with stakeholders throughout the organization to understand their requests/business problems and to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
● Develops comprehensive knowledge of data structures and metrics, and advocates for changes where needed for product development.
● Performs peer review for another Data Scientist’s work.
● Applies AI, machine learning, and other analytical approaches to solve business problems.
● Designs and builds AI/ML/DL models for revenue growth, cost reduction, and to improve member experience.
● Builds LLM models to develop GenAI solutions.
● Frames a problem and comes up with a hypothesis.
● Assesses the effectiveness and accuracy of models on an ongoing basis.
● Identifies new data that could enhance the quality and accuracy of models to improve predictions.
● Communicates results effectively with storytelling and visualization.
● Conducts A/B testings for DS Models and provides options to business.
● Conducts back testing to know the plan vs actual results to improve the DS Model accuracy.
● Provides feedback to enhance the testing framework and AI/MLOps.
● Extends beyond core data science work to perform data wrangling and data preparation as needed.
REQUIRED
● 3+ years’ experience in building and implementing business insights using AI/ML/DL.
● Proficiency in SQL, PySpark, Python, and Machine Learning/Deep Learning.
● Expertise with at least one data visualization tool, preference: PowerBI.
● Proficiency in Machine Learning, Statistical and Reporting tools (Databricks, Python, R, SQL, PowerBI).
● Knowledge of applying AI/ML/DL methods and algorithms across retail areas such as forecasting, pricing, supply chain cost optimization, and inventory management.
● Proven expertise to drive business results, including implementing the solution.
● Knowledge of Deep Learning and Neural Networks, and its applications in Retail, CPG industry.
● Strong experience working in GCP, Azure platform.
● Proficiency in developing and deploying machine learning models at scale.
● Hands-on experience with MLOps practices, including CI/CD for ML pipelines.
● Familiarity with MLflow for experiment tracking and model management.
● Proficiency in working with diverse data types on cloud platforms.
Recommended
● Minimum of 3 years’ experience with a Master’s degree, 5 years’ of work experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, and Statistics/Mathematics or related fields.
● Knowledge of Agile software development.
● Experience with cloud data infrastructure and building things in a repeatable, scalable way on Databricks.
● Passion to communicate business value through data; curiosity to learn and experiment based on A/B methods.
● Experience in software development.
● Exposure to the retail industry.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Ranges:
Level 1 - $115,000 - $160,000
Level 2 - $145,000 - $192,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible
Level 3 - $188,000 - $240,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible
