Granite Recovery Center is looking for a hardworking and dedicated Cook's Helper that is passionate about delivering the best possible dining experience for our guests and associates.
The Cook's Helper assists the Cooks as they prepare delicious meals according to the menu. They follow instructions by assisting Cooks and performing other kitchen duties as part of the team delivering well-prepared meals in an efficient and timely manner to ensure an excellent guest experience. They are knowledgeable in various food preparation and kitchen operations and are kept up to date on industry trends.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Cleans kitchen work areas, steam tables, refrigerators and other kitchen equipment following a daily and weekly cleaning schedule.
- Sweeps and mops kitchen and cafeteria areas daily.
- Cleans storage, food preparation and serving areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
- Wash and dry dishes, take out trashes and broken-down boxes, clean dining area and stock items in serving areas as needed.
- Assists in the set up and breakdown of breakfast and lunch service.
- Performs routine deep clean of kitchen area including sweeping/mopping kitchen floor, cleaning inside and out of reach-ins, cleaning steam table, fryolator, etc.
- Maintains dishwashing station and three-compartment sink and related areas.
- May assist with light food preparation as needed.
- Assists in guaranteeing a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food preparation that ensures safe working practices are followed.
- Maintains professional boundaries with clients and interacts with them in an appropriate manner.
- Any other related tasks that are assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior kitchen/restaurant experience preferred.
- ServSafe certified a plus.
- Must pass State of New Hampshire criminal background check.
- Health, food and sanitation knowledge.
- Ability to work independently with little to no assistance.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
Salary Range:
Generally starting at $17.00 an hour.
The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty, and training.
