The Field Service Engineer will provide onsite services such as commissioning, installation, repair/maintenance, and upgrading of large industrial generators and their associated equipment in the field at customer sites throughout the US and abroad. We are looking for Electrical, Mechanical and Winders Specialist to service BRUSH equipment.
As a Field Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Commissioning HV Generators, Motors, Synchronous condensers, Power management systems (PMS), Electrical protection systems, Excitation Controllers (AVRs), and Synchronising equipment.
- Performing role while applying company health and safety procedures applicable to the job site. Typical examples are HV safety, lock out tag out, permit to work systems and risk and method statements.
- Interpreting machine performance data, instrumentation readings, test values, specifications, technical requirements, and technical drawings to competently understand job scope requirements and assist in performance of job functions.
- Conducting core maintenance activities such as disassembly, clean and inspect, evaluation, and reassembly on heavy-duty industrial generators and equipment such as the following: rotor couplings, frame components, shaft-driven oil pumps, bearings, seals, hydrogen seal assemblies, and rotor removals.
- Providing proper direction to support labor in conducting the same activities including working with union and non-union trades required.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a technical degree from an accredited school and 3+yrs of field service experience
- Demonstrate competencies with tooling such as the following: hydraulic tensioners, hydraulic rams, basic hand tools, pneumatic impact drivers, multi-meters, megger, rigging, generator special tooling, caliper, and precision measurement equipment.
- Be self reliant, resourceful and a problem solver with well developed commercial awareness
- Experienced in representing the Company at customers' sites and operating remotely on own initiative whilst observing the requirements set down in the Company's Code of Conduct
- Able to work with Company's rules and guidance notes on health and safety, including operation of safe systems of work in relation to high voltage and medium voltage electrical systems and work in a heavy industrial environment.
- Able and willingness travel when called upon and on short notice on a regular basis both domestically and internationally 75% of the time or as business needs dictate.
