The Falmouth, Maine School Board is actively seeking an inspiring and visionary leader to serve as the next Superintendent of Schools.
Located just north of Portland, Falmouth, Maine, is a vibrant, family-friendly community with a population of 12,500 and a scenic location along Casco Bay. Falmouth offers an ideal balance of natural beauty, outdoor recreation, and proximity to Portland’s thriving arts, culture, and business scene.

The district includes three schools all located on one 125 acre campus in the center of town:
- Falmouth Elementary School (PreK-5): With an enrollment of approximately 865 students, this school offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to nurture critical thinking, creativity, and social-emotional growth.
- Falmouth Middle School (Grades 6-8): Home to 435 students, Falmouth Middle School provides a challenging academic program paired with robust extracurricular activities, preparing students to become thoughtful, responsible young adults.
Falmouth High School (Grades 9-12): Serving around 670 students, the high school offers an array of courses, including Advanced Placement, Honors and technical offerings, as well as extensive opportunities in the arts, athletics, leadership and service. Falmouth High School consistently ranks among the state’s top high schools, fostering a culture of academic excellence and community engagement.

General Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven success as a superintendent or district-level leader with experience managing large educational organizations
- Deep knowledge of instructional best practices, curriculum development, and educational research
- Strong communicator, capable of articulating a clear vision and managing complex conversations effectively
- Experience with long-range planning, including capital projects and school construction
- Ability to build and manage a large operating budget
- Ability to create a school culture of respect, inclusivity, and high expectations for all students
- Maine Department of Education Superintendent certification (or eligibility for Maine certification)
Advanced degree in Educational Leadership or a related field; Doctorate preferred
