Position Summary

WSH Management is currently seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our newly formed team at our Corporate office located in Irvine. This employee will need to travel to the Bay Area 2-4 times a year.

This is a Hybrid full time position, 40 hours per week.

Job Duties

The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for any related compliance that may be necessary to ensure accuracy and compliance with all LIHTC properties.

Audits Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) move in and recertification files for all LIHTC financed properties.
Prepares compliance files when required. Prepare resident lease documents, provide residents with certification standards and the collection of verification documents related to the Move-in certification process, tenant relations, prepare and check the accuracy of Move-in verification documents, and the preparation and submission of related Move-in documents to compliance manager.
Conducts audits of assigned compliance paperwork at communities.
Reviews Move-in compliance paperwork for new move-ins prior to move-in date.
Reviews re-certifications for accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

While we are proud to offer on-the-job training for all positions, we prefer you to start with the following experience:

A minimum three-years' experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience with auditing LIHTC, HOME, BONDS, Section 8, HCD and other affordable housing programs.
Current Tax Credit Experience.
Must possess strong attention to detail and critical thinking ability.
Competence in personal computer skills, keyboard, 10 key, internet search, math, Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 including Word, Excel, Excel Pivot tables and Outlook.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload
Candidate will be required to pass a background and drug screening. (A conviction will not necessarily disqualify you from employment with WSH Management).

Compensation

Base Pay Start Rate: $33.00 - $33.00 per hour (DOE).
