Responsibilities

Position Highlights:

This position focuses on customer acquisition, retention, and engagement using Fleet Feet Chicago’s digital channels. This position is also accountable for driving customers into the retail locations and contributing to overall sales objectives through storytelling and marketing communications via digital and traditional platforms. This position will also assist with marketing activations in-store and in the community.

  • Responsible for deploying digital newsletters to retail and training program audiences
  • Work with buyers and visual merchandiser to develop a cohesive communications plan that integrates digital, in-store, and product marketing strategies
  • Manage all facets of Fleet Feet Chicago social media accounts. This includes concept creation and execution, consumer engagement, and paid campaigns
  • Maintain a unified marketing message across social media, newsletter communications, digital signage in-store, and online platforms
  • Lead content creation via photo/video shoots with freelance contractors
  • Responsible for performance reporting of consumer engagement across Fleet Feet Chicago digital platforms
  • Take an active role in weekly team meetings and brainstorming sessions
  • Support grassroots marketing and in-store events
  • Know and monitor competitive specialty stores and industry trends
  • Understand, fully use, and continuously improve processes and systems
  • Support all Fleet Feet initiatives, activations, and functions
  • Work schedule will be based upon the demands of the business and retail stores. In a typical week, this position will work 5 days per week out of the business office. In weeks where activations arise, time will be split between the business office and on site at event(s). Work from home will be approved on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

    2+ years of marketing/social media experience recommended but not requiredStrong business acumen and retail industry knowledge
  • Strong ability to influence personnel without direct authority
  • Ability to think strategically about issues and opportunities to properly assess impacts
  • Problem-solver who enjoys challenges and takes pride in creating the right solution
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to listen and adapt
  • Communicate professionally with the team, staff, vendors, and customers
  • Builds and maintains trust by using good judgment
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and other creative software recommended 
  • Collaborative and customer-centric
  • Willing to go above and beyond when needed
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must lead an active lifestyle
  • Out of state travel 1-2 times a year

Additional Requirements - Hours of work for this position may vary based on work schedule. Position requires moving around for periods of 2-4 hours without a rest break task sequencing, and using point-of-sale computers. Occasional moderate to heavy (10-25+lb) lifting and carrying, bending and reaching overhead may be required. Work environment includes substantial communication with customers, working in a retail environment with product displays and stockroom with inventory, and potentially slippery surfaces.
