What You'll Do

Purpose:

As the Associate Director of Global Initiatives, you will manage a portfolio of international partnerships including semester exchange, short-term immersions, global business development and strategic global programming. You will also manage projects and processes across multiple units and teams. You will ensure UM health and safety compliance on all Ross managed global programs. You will report directly to the Managing Director of Global Initiatives.

Responsibilities*

50% Project Management

  • Drive business development for global initiatives, creating international and domestic partnerships.
  • Oversee program marketing (web, print, social media) and collaborate with Ross Marketing to expand the global footprint.
  • Lead projects from concept to implementation, including admissions management, data reporting, and safety/risk management processes.
  • Promote cultural intelligence through orientations, online content, and educational materials.
  • Manage short-term program budgets and ensure compliance with financial policies.

25% Program Development and Portfolio Management

  • Manage global programs, including marketing, applications, admissions, and evaluation processes.
  • Develop relationships with partners and service providers.
  • Integrate international experiences into curricula in collaboration with leadership.
  • Travel to meet partners, attend conferences, and lead student programs.
  • Conduct program reviews and implement process improvements.

10% Strategic Leadership

  • Foster team understanding and provide positive, dynamic leadership.
  • Manage and develop student staff and peer advisors.
  • Represent Ross and Global Initiatives in public forums, enhancing the global brand.

10% Student Leadership

  • Advise and coach students on international program design, goals, and requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries from students, parents, faculty, and staff at all stages of program participation.
  • Be the main contact for crises abroad, managing risks and emergencies.
  • Lead short-term programs, ensuring quality execution and addressing student needs.

5% Health and Safety Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to travel policies and create contingency and safety plans.
  • Develop and review health and safety guidelines for global programs.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in global education, project management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in strategic planning, growth, and quality improvement in study abroad programs or similar.
  • 1+ years of full-cycle project management experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in a leadership role, formal project-based.

Salary Information: The posting range for this position is $63,300-$78,150. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
